Our Story
Persian Rugs World was founded by British-Iranian Hossain (Harry) Mozafari-Saleh in 2014. Growing up in Iran and with family in the local rug industry, Harry grew up with an in-depth understanding in all different styles of Persian rugs and their history and intricacies.
Upon residing in the United Kingdom, Harry found a niche in the Persian rug market. He found that most high-quality rugs of that time were being sold out of auction houses or city-based architectural salvage antique shops. He launched Persian Rugs World as a way of providing the best quality rugs sourced and managed directly by those with expertise in the field at the most reasonable of prices.
Today, Persian Rugs World is one of a handful of bespoke oriental rug stores in the UK that sell new and old carpets, rugs, runners and kilims sourced directly from Iran and sold to you in Chatham, Medway.
They also undertake repairs of antique rugs by their highly skilled craftsmen and on occasion, they produce individual rugs to individual client specifications.
